Our mission is to teach mindfulness skills and a love of nature through a focused attention on the present moment in a non-clinical environment.

Muse Headband

See the effects of your meditation in real time with the help of a Muse headband. A fun and interesting addition to your session, your guide will bring a Muse device as an option to help you learn how to meditate effectively. Muse is a research-grade EEG device that passively senses your brain activity and translates it into the guiding sounds of weather to help you stay calm & focused.

Each mindful hiking session lasts between 1 and 2 hours. Pickup and drop-off is available within the CVRD. Hiking routes vary in length and difficulty according to the client’s abilities, from simple and relaxing inner-city trail nature routes to inspiring wilderness hikes. Routes are located primarily within the Comox Valley region. No previous hiking experience is necessary.

Hikes may include mindfulness lessons, gentle yoga or stretching, breathing exercises, and basic meditation. Walking speed is slow. Clients will be asked to focus on the nature surrounding them – the sounds, smells, colours and feeling of the living world. Conversation is relaxed and easy with the intention of continually refocussing awareness to the present moment. Your guide will provide coaching on methods by which to implement mindfulness in the client’s daily life and during moments of stress, anxiety and depression.

Safety & Comfort

Your safety and comfort are our utmost priority. All hikes take place in areas with continual phone service. A 911 SPOT unit is carried at all times, as are wildlife defense systems. Your guide has up-to-date Wilderness First Aid certification and will carry safety gear and yoga mat, chair, or cushion. Clients are asked to bring lightweight walking shoes, water bottle, appropriate clothing, windbreaker or rain coat, hat, and sunscreen.
